Remapping, often known as Chiptuning., is when third party software is installed onto the ECU to replace the manufacturer's default software. This new software can have customised settings to get the most out of the engine and can often be tailored to each specific vehicle.
Some people are concerned that engine remapping could cause problems with their car. But it shouldn't affect reliability if you use a qualified tuner with a lot of reputation.
Nowadays, there are many mobile tuners who claim to be a genuine tuner. We advise you to stay away from mobile tuning companies unless they are registered with a genuine licenced Tuner.
Average time for remapping can take up to 2-3 hours.
We strongly advise you not to take risk if your vehicle is still under warranty by the manufacturer. This is because some manufacturer’s can find out if the vehicle has been remapped. You may hear from third party tuning companies that this is not true but for sure they are only speaking for their own benefit.
There is a CVN Patch that we could apply on some brands. This will set the flash counter inside the software stable and this is used often by many tuning companies to avoid losing the warranty on the vehicle.
There is no problem if you decide to sell your car then we would advise you to visit our nearest dealer to restore the Engine Control Unit (ECU) back to manufacturer calibration file. However, please note that a small cost will be charged to restore back to OEM calibration.
